Uncomfortable shopping online?
HOW PURCHASING ONLINE WITH PAYPAL WORKS:
jdhopkins.com sells books online using PayPal.com ( www.paypal.com ). When you decide to purchase an item, simply click on the add to cart image next to the item you have selected. [ ]
In some browsers, including Internet Explorer(®), a window will appear asking if you wish to display non-secure items with secure items. Click the yes button to enter the selected item. You will see a jdhopkins.com logo, a PayPal header, and Naked Kitty Productions, the company that oversees the internet servicing for jdhopkins.com.
After you have made all of your selections, click on the view cart button on any page (they appear on each page that an add to cart image appears).Once you have clicked on the view cart button, clicking again will update the contents of the shopping cart, if you have made other selections.
You will be taken to a page listing all of your selections, with other order information. After verifying that the information is correct, click on the checkout button at the bottom of the form to continue.
At this point, YOU WILL BE PROMPTED TO LOGIN TO YOUR PAYPAL ACCOUNT. If you don't have a PayPal account, DON'T PANIC! PayPal accounts only take a few moments to set up, and they are very useful to have for internet shopping and money transfers.
In order to join PayPal, you will need valid credit card information and a current email address, and you will be prompted to create a password, which you will need for future PayPal transactions.
After you login to your account, or after you complete your PayPal membership, you will be taken to a comfirmation page to verify all of your purchase information. Click pay to complete the transaction.
At this point you will be returned to the jdhopkins.com Web site, where you will be thanked profusely for your purchase of original t shirt art, or Queens of Iron, J.D. Hopkins' original prison novel, or both!

PayPal, an eBay company
>> About PayPal - link to complete page quoted below.
Founded in 1998, PayPal, an eBay Company, enables any individual or business with an email address to securely, easily and quickly send and receive payments online. PayPal’s service builds on the existing financial infrastructure of bank accounts and credit cards and utilizes the world’s most advanced proprietary fraud prevention systems to create a safe, global, real-time payment solution.
Located in Mountain View, California, PayPal was acquired by eBay Inc. in October, 2002.
PayPal Data Security and Encryption
>> PayPal security - link to complete page quoted below.
PayPal automatically encrypts your confidential information in transit from your computer to ours using the Secure Sockets Layer protocol (SSL) with an encryption key length of 128-bits (the highest level commercially available). Before you even register or log in to our site, our server checks that you're using an approved browser - one that uses SSL 3.0 or higher.
Once your information reaches us, it resides on a server that is heavily guarded both physically and electronically. Our servers sit behind an electronic firewall and are not directly connected to the Internet, so your private information is available only to authorized computers.
What does it all mean?
Basically, PayPal provides a completely secure online service with which to make credit card purchases. Your credit card information, email address and password are all safe within the PayPal system.
The security measures can only be compromised at the password area, which is the province of the user (that's you!). PayPal has further recommendations for protecting your password against unauthorized use. The link is provided below:
